The language in economics and theory of value

How does language, economics and the language of economics function as an instrument of power?

The economic aspects are deeply rooted in the daily life of people, ideas are often expressed and heard, which come from economic science itself, many concepts from the simplest to complex aspects of the vocabulary that are heard in conferences on television or similar.

The use of economic language or the language itself can lead a person to understand a little more about the world that surrounds them, understand aspects such as the need to maximize profits in their small businesses or minimize costs in their homes, or understand the types of of rates that you can have when appearing in a bank, understanding about economic aspects entails understanding being one as such and the activities that it develops

Can you think of any examples from your major (positive or negative) and your courses?

Economics, being a social science, has a wide variety of aspects on which it can focus, from areas such as health, education, families, to much more specific aspects such as financial systems, business administration, among many others.

The good or bad aspects of economics lie a lot from the perspective that one seeks to see, for example, for many people innovation and change are a way to improve as a society, while for many others it is not.

This is where economics comes out more as a social science, understanding that human have differences in their groups.

What effects does this have on the world?

Focusing on the positive aspects, those of us who study economics believe that we have a duty to help society, mainly if we work from public policies, help in the fight against poverty and, above all, be able to help solve the great inequality that exists between the various regions.

Multidisciplinary work should be promoted because the economy can learn a lot from other areas of knowledge and they can also learn from us.

I believe that the most important thing we can do is not a better society, but a fairer and more accessible one, and by doing this we will implicitly grow as a society.

What would you like for an economic future?

I would especially like that although there is growth in countries worldwide, I hope it will be much fairer and that poor countries have the opportunity and the capacity for innovation so that they are not left behind, it is difficult, but I think that our commitment to look for ways to make this possible

What is value and the productive boundary?

The value

It is the creation of new products, how they are produced and how they are distributed, it is important that the idea of seeing these results not only from the perspective of how they can create wealth, that is, not only observing them from their potential to produce money , but how they can be really useful for the creation or improvement of society, to understand this we can see an example, the value of an item is how important it can be for people when carrying out their activities

Productive boundary

It is a type of limit used by policy makers and economics, what they seek is to try to classify goods and services that produce value and separate them from those that do not.

What is value theory and why does it matter?

As mentioned above, it is a way of seeing services and goods beyond their monetary value and seeing it more as if it is useful or not for society.

In particular, its advantages can be extensive but can really help society when goods and services are identified that can create value for citizens, this could really help progress and development. It is important to produce to obtain economic benefits, but why not produce those that give us more returns and also generate added value.
